What Can I Expect During Roof Replacement

What Can I Expect During Roof Replacement

A roof replacement project is a significant event. Just imagining your home with no roof can be stressful. So, how does this unfold without being terribly disruptive and uncomfortable?

Good Planning

All projects benefit from good planning. An inspection of the roof and supporting areas of the home are a vital part of that plan. Our seasoned roofing specialists know all the elements of a successful roof replacement project and will communicate the process to you. We want to answer any of your questions, let you know the general flow of events, and with good communication, make the process as seamless as possible.

Prep & Protection

To provide protection of your property, the exterior of the home is cleared of breakables and landscape covered if necessary. Prior to starting the project, a checklist is provided to protect against any potential damage along with the upcoming progress payment schedule. Scheduling of the roof tear off and material deliveries are confirmed. Permits are pulled and everything is lined up so that your project runs as smooth as possible.

Removing the Old Roof

The first step to a full replacement is the removal of the old roof. We will begin with the removal of the old roofing material and conduct a thorough inspection of the wood decking. Damaged wood is replaced to prepare a solid structure for the new roof.

Installation of New Roofing Materials

The new roofing materials that you have chosen are installed including underlayment, drip edges, diverters, flashing, ventilation, starters, etc. The installation process typically takes 2-3 days depending on the size of the project, materials and whether new sheathing, gutters, etc. are included in the scope of the work.

Disposal of Construction Debris

We provide for full removal and disposal of all roofing debris and material. We utilize trailers and mobile equipment so that no dumpster is left in your driveway.

Completion

We provide proper permits for every project, warranty paperwork and handle the scheduling of all inspections unless the homeowner uses another contractor to do so.

We want your new roof to be an exciting renovation for your home and as painless as possible. Our quality workmanship, careful planning, and good communications will keep the project on track and the disruption minimal.  We hope you will allow us the opportunity to assist on your next roof project!
